Happy!!

This week has been great! The MTC is an amazing place! I've learned a lot about life from all the people that I've met. One of the Elders in my district lost his closest sister 3 weeks before he came on his mission. He's the happiest one out of all of us, and is a great missionary. I can't even believe how much strength he has to have. I want to be someone like that, and I'm grateful for the examples that I have around me. Our district is pretty much a family :) We always have a "color of the day" and we all try to match each other :) We went to the temple today and it was great to be with them there! We're constantly laughing and having a great time together.

Yesterday we had "In Field Orientation." We learned more about how it's going to be in New York. We talked in DETAIL about planning, teaching, contacting, tracting, etc. We learned about faith, and after the lesson they gave us mustard seeds to tape in our journals. I taped mine on the back of my badge to always remember to have faith :)

Most of the time I'm scared to role play, but I love the TRC. Volunteers come and pretend to be investigators. It's my favorite way to role play because it actually feels real. The spirit is so tangible in those lessons sometimes, it's unreal! I love being a missionary, and love wearing my name tag :) Being a missionary is great, and I hope to be as diligent and obedient as I can be. I want the Lord to be able to trust me with anything He needs. I want Him to be able to trust me with his children here on earth. I'm excited to go to NEW YORK!

I love you all, and hope to respond to your letters soon. Thanks for writing!!!

Love, Sister Hansen

The MTC

I'm doing great! After I was dropped off they took all of us new missionaries through pretty much a maze of rooms picking up things, getting our badges, receiving papers, etc. It was so awesome when I put my missionary badge on for the first time! All the new missionaries have a red sticker on their name tag on the first day, so everyone sees that and is friendly because they know it's your first day :) That night we had three long classes where we were in big groups and talked to fake investigators. The spirit in the room was SO strong. It's the strongest I've ever felt the spirit before, and it was only my first day!!!

My companion is sister Le Baron. Seriously this is funny, but she is Taylor Brown's cousin from work... crazy! She's nice and fun to be with! She has red, curly hair and glasses! We both want to be obedient, so we get along well :) All day every day we're CONSTANTLY working. We're either studying, praying, in class, being taught doctrines, etc. Even though there are times when my body and eyes get tired, I'm loving it. It's like college, but TEN MILLION times better because I'm learning about a subject that I absolutely LOVE :) I love it here and am happy, but role playing with fake investigators and with sisters or elders is still scary for me. I'm getting a lot better at teaching, but I still get a little nervous.

Here are just some random things that I want to write down. I know this paragraph will be random and jumbled haha. The food is pretty good here. I've been eating mostly salads and have been staying away from the sweets... I'm proud of myself because they have some DANG good looking treats haha :) A lot of girls have the same luggage bags as I do! So I'm glad that I put little pieces of zebra tape on the top handles. I still love my luggage though Mom and Dad :) Thank you sooo much! I've seen most of the elders and sisters that are from Morgan. That's been fun to see familiar faces! We've only been able to talk for a few seconds though. We're constantly on our way to classes, or needing to be somewhere. I like being busy with the Lord's work though! Oh (to Dad and Kallin) the classroom next to us started singing for their opening hymn, "Lead Though Me On." I almost started laughing, and had to keep my cool hahaha :)

Our district is really fun! We're in our classroom for a minimum of 5 hours a day, so we've gotten close even though it's only been a couple days. Everyone's testimonies are really strong, and the discussions we have are absolutely AMAZING. The spirit is just so tangible ALL THE TIME. It's great :) I've been able to sleep pretty well, so that's awesome. Of course I'm a little tired, but I know that the Lord is blessing me to be able to sleep at night, even though my mind is racing from the rush of a normal MTC day.

I love all of you and hope that everyone is doing well. I can't wait to hear about Fallon and Lindsay's little babies :) Hopefully I can get an e-mail soon? I'm wanting to hear from you. I'm always praying for everyone and thanks for being such an amazing family. Thanks for giving me something great to miss ;) I don't have much time, so this is all I can write. PLEASE BE SAFE! I know the gospel is true, and I'm happy to be serving the Lord :)

Called To Serve

I know I've been posting and talking a lot about my mission, but I've been excited :) The past couple weeks have seemed like an eternity waiting for the 6th to come... and it's finally HERE!

I'm grateful for my friends and family who have been a great support system. It's going to be so much fun writing my friends who are also on missions. They've already given me great advice and are examples to me.

I was able to go to the Bountiful Temple (my favorite!!!) the day before I left. It was closed for a while up until that day... talk about perfect timing! It was such an amazing experience. Confirmed even more that it's my favorite :)

Here are some pictures that I took a little while before I left...
SEE YOU IN 18 MONTHS!  "I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord!"
