This week has been a little better. Here are some random things that I want to write about! I had a half moon cookie, which apparently are famous out here haha :) We also went to a Harvest Fest where we picked apples for service to bring to food shelters. That was a lot of fun! I've also been able to get to know people a little better. A little girl in the branch came up to me and said, "You have Rapunzel hair!" and a little boy in our branch tried to say "Sister Hansen" but he said "Mr. Handsome." So my new nickname is Mr. Handsome hahaha :) Oh, and I wanted to give my GPS a name... so I named it Liahona haha!
We also had exchanges this week. I stayed in Cooperstown with Sister Johnson. That was SO fun! She's a really sweet sister and I was happy to work with her for a little while! We have a family that is going to be baptized on October 5th during General Conference sessions, so that's exciting! Their last name is Hopkins. The mom and three of her sons are the ones being baptized! We've been preparing for that and we're still trying to find more people who will accept the gospel!
Like I said last week, adjusting hasn't been easy. I've been sick and really tired in almost every way possible haha. Brother Willden offered to give me a priesthood blessing... so I accepted! It was really great! I needed to hear a lot of the things that were said in that blessing. Something that really stuck out to me was that he said, "The fruits of your labor are much sweeter when you've tasted the bitter." That is SO true. The good things that have happened on my mission mean so much more to me because I've been through hard things to get them. Right now it's been really hard, but I'm having faith that good will come from it. I know God is there and He's directing this work. I'm happy to be a part of it!
Here are some funny quotes!
*Sister Israelsen saying bye to her kids: "Bye my offspring!"
*Elder Longwill asking us if we're leaving: "Are you outy like a belly-button?"
"We need to share the FREAKING gospel!" -Sister Langford
"Do you want to sit in the chair of destiny?" -Brother Willden
Thanks for everything that you do for me :) I love all of you!
Love, Sister Hansen <3
