This week has been a little slower than the others. We've been ready and excited to teach people, but as a missionary you learn fast that people will cancel appointments, forget, or won't even show up. It's a little disappointing, but you keep trusting in the Lord and having faith. You can see people progressing so much in a lesson, and the next time they see you they're hesitant about everything.
It just shows that this work is true, and Satan is working on them because he doesn't want them to progress. We have been praying with faith that we can keep finding and teaching people. As long as we do our part, I know the Lord will help us. There are times when I get down on myself and think that I'm not doing enough, but then I remember that I've only been out for a few weeks. I'm not going to be perfect, but I'm trying my best and that's all the Lord wants :)
General Conference was amazing! As a missionary you're constantly busy, so sitting down for a while and listening to conference was nice. I know what the apostles and prophets taught it true. I know God and Christ live. I know we're His children and that He loves us. This is a marvelous work, and I'm so happy to be sharing it with others!
Here are some fun highlights for this week!
-My skirt was accidentally shut outside of the car door during our car wash, so my skirt got all bubbly and soaked haha.
-We got ice cream from an ice cream truck!
-If we slip or fall during the week we owe everyone doughnuts at district meeting! Yes, we've already had doughnuts haha :)
-A man answering the door in nothing but a small robe
-Trying some hot sauce that said, "This product is 800 times hotter than jalapeno peppers." IT WAS SOOOO HOT!
-GENERAL CONFERENCE
Loved this joke I heard:
There were 3 missionaries who encountered a genie, and they each had one wish. The first missionary wished that he could get mail every single day of his mission. His wish was granted and he got a letter every day of his mission.
The second missionary wished to baptize hundreds of people. His wish was granted and he baptized 200 people.
The third missionary wished that he could be like Christ completely. He wanted to teach like Christ, tract like Christ, hope like Christ, and act like Christ... EVERYTHING the way Christ would. So the genie granted the third missionary's wish by turning him into a sister missionary!
Hahahahahaha!
Love, Sister Hansen
